New Paint-job in the Bowl

If you haven't been into the park in a while, we just threw down a fresh coat of paint in the bowl and painted the coping for a much stickier skate surface. This will be part of a regular surface re-paint schedule we're implementing that will keep the pockets and features nice and grippy through the winter and beyond. Come on down and rip it up for $7 bucks.

Spencer Morgan Knutilla Photo Show & King of Grommonwealth Bowl Jam

This past Saturday we hosted a skate photo show for local photographer and our good friend Spencer Morgan Knutilla, along with a King of Grommonwealth youth bowl jam. Turnout was amazing and all the littler rippers gave it everything they got. Big congrats to Samson Crouch and Quentin Laville who tied for first place in the 12 and under category and the current King of Grommonwealth, Magnus Lauber, who dominated the 13-15 year old bracket.

Major thanks to Unheard Distribution (especially Colin Sharp) and Converse CONS for helping make the whole thing possible and kicking down for the winning prizes!

Skate Like a Girl PDX

Local videographer Tommy Day shot and directed this fantastic and inspiring promotional video for Skate Like a Girl PDX during one of their Sunday clinics at Commonwealth. We're so honored to be a part of what the women of this non-profit do for their communities, and this video couldn't have done a better job capturing the heart and soul of their purpose.

If you or your skater are interested in participating, you can learn more on our Sessions section or by going to the Skate Like a Girl PDX website.

Now Showing: The Art of Andy Thompson

Commonwealth is proud once again to be showing the latest works from local artist Andy Thompson. Andy is a Portland skater, artist, and craftsman whose unique wood-burned skateboard art has been featured in Thrasher Magazine and has shown at Commonwealth once before. The artwork will be hanging at Commonwealth for the next month, with pieces ranging from $140-$650. Most will sell quickly, so visit the shop early if you would like to own one!
